Manuka honey is a brilliant culinary ally.
Breakfasts welcome a drizzle onto porridge, yoghurts and toast.
While hot drinks, smoothies and even hot toddies are a traditional way to get Manuka into your diet.
But what about using Manuka honey in other meals throughout the day?
In this latest blog we have compiled some of our favourite new ways to use Manuka honey.
Many of these recipes are thanks to our amazing customers who have “tagged” us on social media in their own kitchen creations. We love seeing what you come up with, so please do tag us on Instagram or mention us on Facebook the next time you create a Manuka Honey show stopper!
Now onto our top favourites:
1. Manuka Honey Pizza
This brilliantly colourful combo from @yourdailytreats on Instagram really impressed us with their creativity. And it also looks delicious!
They told us:
We were inspired to make this after we realised how much we LOVE the concept of chilli jam, that hot and sweet combo is unreal!.
We simply added chopped jalapeño peppers (with seeds) and chopped red chilli into the honey and simmered it for 7-8 mins on medium heat. Once you let it cool on room temperature, we strained it and stored it in an airtight jar. We wanted to add the candied leftovers on the pizza too but we were too quick to eat it up.
We lathered the pizza base with chilli jam and loaded it with shredded mozzarella. The pepperoni style figs, along with the fresh arugula, feta, chopped almonds, and generous drizzle of hot honey made this one HEAVENLY pizza!
2. Manuka paneer
Another excellent attempt from @yourdailytreats
This Korean inspired bowl is perfect for a cosy Spring night to keep you warm and full.
The key to this recipe is the Gochujang sauce. Made in a glass jar, you simply combine soy sauce, Gochujang, Manuka honey, ginger garlic paste, 1 tbsp oil, and the sesame seeds.
3. Sweet (or sour) Avocado on toast
You can’t beat this twist on a brunch classic.
Sweat-Space over in America created this over on their Instagram page @sweatspace providing two options. One sweet and one spicy!
On the left is the sweet, their Sourdough toast topped with sliced avocado, freshly picked blackberries and a drizzle of Manuka honey.
On the right is the spicy, sourdough toast topped with sliced avocado, pickled jalapeños, lime juice, sea salt and red pepper.
We know which we prefer.
4. The Ultimate Brunch
This is something quite special from @50shadesoffruit
Writing on Instagram, they explained how this creation came about:
“My laptop decided to play games on me this morning and wouldn't turn on, knowingly that I have a final tomorrow. So I decided to go make some brunch and couldn't decide what I wanted so I made everything!”
Manuka honey is the sweet finishing touch here, drizzled on top of the sourdough and French toast.
