Description

The number on the front of the pot represents the mg per kg of MGO (Methylglyoxal) and the related strength of Antimicrobial Activity, which is known to kill certain types of bacteria. The greater the number, the stronger the Antimicrobial Activity.

MGO in Mānuka honey is naturally made in the hive from DHA which is present in the nectar of the Manuka Bush. Within the hive DHA undergoes the Maillard reaction to naturally form MGO.

Pure New Zealand Mānuka Honey has a unique taste that changes as the MGO rating increases. It isn't as sweet as most mass produced honey varieties so to help you decide on the taste and antimicrobial properties (MGO rating) that's perfect for you we've created this handy taste chart.

Honey should not be given to infants under 12 months old.

Manuka Doctor Mānuka Honey purchased directly from us will have an expiry date with a minimum of 6 months remaining from the date of purchase.

Please note that Manuka Doctor Honey is not for resale.

In hot weather we recommend that our Manuka Doctor Honey is refrigerated to maintain a thick, golden consistency. If your honey does become runny then simply chill for a few hours.

On the subject of plastic, we as a business we have considered switching to glass for our Manuka Honey for some years.

However after an impact assessment, it was established that because the product is transported over 11,000 miles by sea, changing from recyclable plastic to glass would add significant weight and therefore fuel, emissions and pollutants to every shipment. Returns

1. If you change your mind and don’t want the Product within 14 days of its delivery to you, your rights to cancel are set out at clause 11 of our Terms and Conditions of Supply. Please note to be eligible for a refund the Product must be unopened, in its original packaging and sealed. We will only be obliged to process any refund due once we have received the Product back from you. You will have to bear the cost of returning the Product, and we shall reimburse you for your reasonable costs incurred to return the Product to us.

2. If you discover that the Product is faulty or not of satisfactory quality within 30 days of the Product being delivered or us delivering the Product you may also be entitled to a refund or exchange in accordance with clause 11.9 of our Terms and Conditions of Supply.

3. Ensure that if you do want to cancel a contract you follow the cancellation procedure at clause 11 of the Terms and Conditions of Supply. Failure to do so may result in a delay in any refund being processed.

How should I take it ,

BBE DEC2021 & opened ,stored well .How long can I prolong in taking it.Does it do any harm? Bought it from Holland & Barrett Malta Batch 192067
Hello, thank you for your question. Manuka Doctor jars carry a BBE, not expiry date on the label. BBE stands for Best Before End and as published by the UK Government Food Standards Agency,. “The best before date, sometimes shown as BBE (best before end), is about quality and not safety. The Manuka Doctor BBE is set because honey gets darker and loses its best Manuka flavour over time. It is best to consume Manuka Doctor honey within best before end (BBE) date. We carefully test the MGO in our honey when we pack it, and our internal testing shows that the MGO level on the label is maintained within the BBE date. I hope this helps.
Is this a solid or runny product. Can you in fact clarify which of the honeys is runny, I like to add to my cereal.
Hello, all Manuka Honey is thicker than your shop brought honey. It is personal preference which honey you would prefer. We would recommend anything from 30-70MGO to enjoy on your breakfast cereal.
